Fall is the perfect season to get creative and cozy up your home with some DIY decor. And guess what? You don’t need to break the bank to make your space look stunningly festive. Dollar Tree has many fantastic seasonal items that are just waiting for your creativity. Just a tip—grab these goodies early before they sell out! Let me share ten fabulous Dollar Tree DIY Fall decor ideas that you can try this year!
1. Garland of Wood Beads and Burlap Oak Leaves
Nothing says Autumn quite like a rustic Fall garland. For this project, you’ll need 4 of Dollar Tree’s wood bead garlands and 2 packages of burlap oak leaves. Tie the garlands together, threading the ends through a few beads and trimming the string. Attach the burlap oak leaves intermittently by wrapping the wire ends around the garland to create a charming, nature-inspired garland. I placed my leaves every 10 beads. This garland can be draped over your mantel to give your fireplace Fall vibes, around a door frame, or even along your dining table for a cozy, autumnal touch.
2. Cottagecore Style Pumpkin Makeover
Transform those faux Dollar Tree pumpkins into cottagecore beauties! Start by coating the pumpkins with chalk paint in soft, muted tones like cream, sage, or blush. Once dry, distress the edges with sandpaper for a vintage look. To finish, hot glue some faux florals to the top. The result is an elegant, romantic pumpkin that fits perfectly into any cozy fall setting.
3. Grapevine Wreath with Maple Leaves and Pumpkins
Create a stunning fall wreath with a Dollar Tree grapevine wreath base. Start by gluing a DIY cottagecore pumpkin to one side of the wreath form with hot glue gun. Add faux leaves (trim them off of the Dollar Tree faux oak leaf stems), mini pumpkins, and some small faux florals. Hot glue everything securely, and you’ll have a wreath that exudes warmth and charm, perfect for your front door.
4. Plaid Tea Towel Throw Pillow Cover
Plaid tea towels from Dollar Tree can easily be transformed into charming throw pillow covers. Using my free embroidery pattern from the blog, mark the word “grateful” on the towel. Embroider it with contrasting thread in a simple back stitch for a lovely touch. Sew two towels right sides together, leave a hole on the bottom, stuff with fiber fill, and hand sew the hole shut. These pillows will add a cozy, personalized touch to your fall decor.
5. Decorative Cloche with Wooden Mushrooms
Capture the essence of Fall with a cute decorative cloche. Use Dollar Tree wooden mushrooms, moss, and dried flowers, arranging them inside a plastic globe from the store. You can use hot glue to secure any of the elements. The result is a whimsical, nature-inspired decoration that brings a touch of the outdoors inside. This looks so sweet as a Fall centerpiece, or as seasonal shelf decor.
6. Fall Tablescape with Plaid Tea Towels
For a delightful fall tablescape, use Dollar Tree plaid tea towels as napkins, placed on white plates. Top each setting with a glass pumpkin from Dollar Tree. As a centerpiece, arrange Dollar Tree faux florals in a thrift store amber glass vase. This setup is simple yet sophisticated, perfect for any Fall gathering.
7. Hurricane Vase Centerpiece
Create a stunning centerpiece using a hurricane vase filled with Dollar Tree pumpkin clips (with the clips removed), faux acorns, pinecones, and LED copper wire lights. Place this on a round tray with some beautiful Dollar Tree faux pumpkins, candles, and a vase with faux fall stems. The combination of textures and lights makes for a captivating display that’s sure to be the highlight of your fall decor.
8. Burlap Pumpkin and Cream Rose Wreath with Lights
For another wreath option, start with the Dollar Tree grapevine wreath base. Add a burlap pumpkin, faux cream-colored roses and a couple burlap oak leaves. Weave an LED copper wire light through the wreath and glue the battery pack to the back. This wreath is perfect for adding a touch of elegance and warm light to your entryway. 9. Finger Crocheted Pillow with Bath Mats
Transform Dollar Tree bath mats into a cozy, textured boho chic pillow. Using off-white yarn or macrame cord, finger crochet some chains. Glue the chains to one of the bath mats in various patterns and stripes using fabric hot glue. Then, glue two bath mats right sides together, leaving a hole. Stuff with polyfill and glue the hole shut. This pillow adds a plush, handmade touch to any couch or chair and it looks super high end considering its made from dollar store items!
10. Vintage Inspired Artwork
Create unique vintage-inspired artwork using Dollar Tree picture frames, pages from an old book, dried ferns, feathers, and twine or raffia ribbon. Arrange the dried ferns and feathers on the book pages and frame them. Add a twine or a raffia ribbon bow to the frame for a final touch. This artwork is perfect for your wall or mantel, adding a touch of nature and vintage charm to your fall decor.
Bonus Idea:
Use a Dollar Tree wire basket, basket filler, and dollar store pumpkins to create a sweet little pumpkin patch centerpiece. Simply place the filler in the basket (you can spray paint the basket if you’d like), and then arrange some pumpkins, pinecones, and faux florals in the basket to create an easy diy fall décor centerpiece.
These DIY Dollar Tree Fall decor projects are not only budget-friendly but also a fantastic way to infuse your home with the cozy, warm vibes of Autumn. Remember to head to Dollar Tree early to grab your seasonal items before they sell out! Happy crafting!
